It allows you to draw a letter or alphabet in the text field. In this method, you can type in using a pencil tool. The third method is probably the most popular and preferred. It helps you understand the considerable amount of effort and resources that have gone into building Google Input Tools. Overall, you may end up with a huge list of suggestions. Depending on the length of your word or sentence, the suggestions vary in style and number. However, it only applies to some languages, since it suggests possible phrases and words. The second method to type a text is similar to the first one. All the icons are clearly displayed, and the familiar interface lets you type a text quickly. When you use this method, you can see an on-screen keyboard, which displays the layout of keys in a specific language. In the first one, you can type in content with a keyboard. In order to type in a text, Google Input Tools download provides you with three different methods. It also lets you switch between preferred languages. On clicking the icon, you can see a drop-down menu, which provides you with access to a wide range of features. With a simple interface, the tool creates a new icon in your browser’s interface. Specifically I hope to find an instrument that has a good piano-like weighted 88 keys keyboard and good emulations of rhodes, wurlitzer, clavinet etc with options for settings as well as grand pianos. The lounge lizard is good, but when playing the FP-90 or Kronos I just start dreaming I even tried keyscape and I could not get rid of latency issues and the velocity never seems right for my e-piano. I want to get an instrument like this for personal use at home, because I don't enjoy playing through vst. And it is double the price of the other instruments I tried (the vendor said I should consider the MODX8 instead of the Montage). So I would pay for a lot of stuff that I don't need. Korg Kronos 88 vs Yamaha Montage 7 White 88 keys RH3 graded hammer action keyboard Sound generation: 9 Synthesis process SGX-2, EP-1, HD-1, AL-1, CX-3, STR. Assigning Motion-Control Synthesis, the Montage mixes two tone engines: AWM2 (synthesis- and sample-based sounds) and FM-X (frequency modulation synthesis). I would do something like that in my DAW. The Yamaha Montage 8 is an 88-key computer synthesizer that combines factors of the DX- and Motif-series keyboards. I don't need drum track options or the karma engine (an arpeggiator as far as I understand it?). But it has much more options than I would need. Then the montage had more options like that but to me the sounds or the keys (not sure) lacked "life".Īnd the Kronos was absolutely great. I know that on february the new Korg Nautilus will be out and it should not be expected to push the kronos out of the market as it is not comparable but slightly below. I used to be a big yamaha fan (still am) but i am so proud of korg. I find the KRONOS is easier to use than the old original motif6 i use to have. I left Sweetwater with the Yamaha in a 61 key format and have had no regrets since. I was all set to get a motif xf6, but after listening to tons of utube videos, carefully comparing motif xf to kronos, The KRONOS had better sound in almost every area. So it was Montage vs Kurzweil Forte vs Korg Kronos. I was hoping to get some good advice from you guys.įirst I tried the Roland FP 90 and the sounds were amazing and I liked the inbuilt speakers pretty much, but I really missed options like in the lounge lizard vst, where you can change hammer action, pickup, tine bar etc. Ive considered the classic Roland Fantom 8, Yamaha montage and at the end, considering the best trade off between price / functions I landed at the korg kronos 2 88. 2 Devastator Music Lives for gear My Studio When I went big board shopping just awhile back, the Fantom wasnt available to try. I was thinking of getting a good stage piano for a while now and yesterday I finally went to the store to try a few models. Since I feel like many of you might have a lot of experience with some of those and alternatives I thought I might as well start one. I was looking for a discussion on the Kronos, Montage, RD-2000, MODX etc and did not find any.
Oddly enough, it’s called “Setup for Virtual Windows XP”, although it’s really the second step of a two-step process. Now it’s time to install the pre-configured hard disk. No worries, though, I’m sure everything will turn out just fine. Note: I, umm, accidentally installed the following XP Mode installer *first*, so my apologies if your experience in the Start menu is a little different at this point. Ok, Windows Virtual PC is now installed, as you can see in the following figure.įigure 5. Windows Virtual PC gets installed.įigure 4. Agree to the EULA for the pre-release software.įigure 3. Windows Virtual PC is apparently an “update,” not an installer. You’ll be asked to install an update when you launch the Windows Virtual PC installer (note that. You’ll need this to run the pre-configured Windows XP hard drive, which is, interestingly, a separate download.įigure 1. Installing XP Modeįirst things first, download and install Windows Virtual PC Beta. Feel free to scroll down to “Using XP Mode” if you want to cut to the chase. Note: I go over my experience using XP Mode later on in this article. FYI, I am running the 圆4 version – there is also an x86 download. Below are the screen shots from the experience with my notes along the way. It *is* a separate download, so make sure you get it on May 5 when the general public can grab the Windows 7 RC (Release Candidate). I installed Windows 7’s “XP Mode” today, which is basically a new version of Virtual PC somewhat embedded into Windows 7. That is to say-for every $100 you spent, you get a $2 value of Reward Points. The Zaire (Congo) flows from the northeast of Lake Cafates, while the Zuama (Zambezi) exits at the south of the lake. Rivers from the north of both lakes wend northward and join to form the Nile. To the east and just slightly north is another, smaller lake. He rejected the name of Zaire-Zembere used by Gastaldi. Ortelius here also includes a large central lake, called Cafates. Farther north, the Niger River rises from Lake Niger. All the rivers are amalgamated here, reflecting the common Medieval belief that most continents had a central lake which gave rise to the largest rivers of the landmass. The former, which is also a name for the Zambezi River, branches into the Spiritu Sant, which is supposedly the Limpopo River. The larger of these rivers is also the source for the Zuama and Zaire Rivers. The main branch of the Nile is sourced from two lakes at roughly the same latitude. The map is significant for several reasons, including its place in the history of cartography of the African continent, its depiction of Central Africa and its rivers, and its inclusion in the first modern atlas. : “The map of Africa was, apparently, one of the few for which Ortelius) was responsible, as he gives no source, but it has been pointed out that there is some similarity between this map and the copperplate engraved maps of Forlani and Gastald (the latter’s 8-sheet map of 1564).” (Norwich) Quite a few new place names appearing along the North American west coast were provided to Ortelius by Hakluyt on the basis of recent explorations. Twol sea monsters and a sailing ship appear in the Pacific and Indian Oceans. The projection of America is based upon Mercator’s Wall map of 1569, as is most of the other cartographic detail. In comparison to his previous versions of the World, South America has lost its curious bulge. A curious projection of Japan and Southeast Asia is shown. It also mentions place names reported by Marco Polo. The map includes a Northwest Passage and Northeast Passage and a massive Southern Continent which is attached to New Guinea. The title is given in large letters above the image and below, is a quotation from Cicero in Latin: “What do human affairs signify when one considers the vastness of the world and all eternity?” This map was made by Francois De Belleforest and it is based upon the cartography of Gastaldi and Gerard Mercator’s highly important 1569 wall map. First issued in 1570 and expanded over the next forty two years to this final Vrients edition of Ortelius’ masterwork, the Theatrum revolutionized the presentation of maps to an increasingly educated classes of Renaissance Europe and became the standard from which most cartographic works of the period were copied.Įach of the five maps offered here were the standards for their time, drawn from the most important wall maps produced by Mercator, Ortelius and other leading European mapmakers and represented the completion of the shift of importance from the Italian mapmakers of the mid-16th Century (the so-called Lafreri School of mapmakers), to the Low Countries, marking the beginning of the Golden Age of Dutch Cartography. Ortelius’ Theatrum was perhaps the single most influential set of maps published in the 16th Century. Educational Benefits of Playing Red Light, Green Lightīefore you start playing Red Light, Green Light, it's important to set up the game area correctly.įirst, make sure you choose a flat and safe playing area without obstacles that can cause players to trip and fall.Red Giant is due to hit Kickstarter later today, November 9th, with a planned release date yet to be announced. Two scenarios - Dryspell and Ice Over Bittersweet Nightshade - provide a starting point for newcomers. Lists of items, weapons, armour and other elements of the world will also be included, along with a bestiary and map generator for creating hex-based maps. The upcoming RPG will include ten different archetypes for use in character creation, along with rules on progressing up to fifth level and more than 40 exchanges to customise characters. Red Giant’s system will also be compatible with various content, such as monsters and items, and books released for OSR - Old School Renaissance - RPGs with a small amount of adaptation required. Despite the low survivability of characters in the world, the game’s creators describe the system itself as “very beginner-friendly”. Sessions prioritise narrative moments and combat encounters, with characters’ actions resolved using dice. Powering the RPG’s rules-light gameplay is a system said to be “unique” yet “very familiar” to players of Over Arms and Japanese designer Atsuhiro Okada’s tabletop RPG Ryuutama. “Death is a large part of every game of Red Giant and players may find themselves creating new characters quite frequently as they traverse the hellscape before them,” the game’s description warns. Players’ own characters can cast spells to fend off the threats, with three different types of magic detailed in the core rulebook. Players are expected to see their characters succumb on a much more frequent basis than other fantasy roleplaying games, with the inhabitants of the world - both worldly and otherworldly - posing a risk to characters’ physical and mental wellbeing. “Just like our waking life, we must hold onto this meaning or risk losing ourselves to the world around us.” “Within Red Giant are many existential themes which urge the player to create meaning for their character in a bleak world shrouded by evil, trickery and decay,” Rookie Jet outlined in its announcement. Other key influences cited by the studio include long-running series Vampire Hunter D and dark fantasy manga Claymore. Taking place in a “cursed world” bathed by the intense light of an ominous crimson sun that has awakened all manner of supernatural nightmare, Red Giant’s setting is described as being bleak and deadly, much like the bloody gothic horror of video game-turned-Netflix animated series Castlevania and the hugely influential manga Berserk by late artist Kentaro Miura. Red Giant is the second release from indie RPG outlet Rookie Jet Studio and designer Cory Burns, who last summer crowdfunded Over Arms, a TRPG heavily influenced by manga/anime JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure and video game series Persona. A tabletop RPG inspired by the dark fantasy of Castlevania and Berserk plans to put players’ characters through the wringer. |
